What happens when a client approaches with a challenge that other firms claim to be impossible? We find a way to make it work.

We were challenged to relocate an exisiting bulk terminal featuring 23 50-year old storage tanks and pumps. The client had been advised that the tanks could not be relocated, which would result in an additional capital expenditure of $6MM for new equipment. At that point, the client asked for our advice.

Element6 participated in site selection and evaluated opportunities for existing and new-build solutions. From sketches and experience, we created a cost estimate within three weeks, delivering a solution that saved millions in cost and months on schedule.

The impossible part? Within five days, the old tanks were removed, with only two of 23 requiring minor repairs to pass API inspection.

Element6 pigging technology was used extensively, including creative firsts to achieve the annual waste reduction target of $1.5MM and maintain plant flexibility. We employed an integrated project delivery model to deliver the facility in less than 18 months from site selection to the first product.

We delivered the impossible on this $18MM project and came in more than 5% under budget.
